Doris Mae McPherson, age 88, passed peacefully at her residence in San Francisco, California on January 31, 2017. Doris was born February 1st, 1928 in Lindsay, California the daughter of Carsten and Vera Knutson.

Doris was an active member of the community, but family was her passion.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Malcolm McPherson and granddaughter Kristin L. Carpenter.

Doris is survived by her three children Karen Carpenter, Jeaneen McPherson and James McPherson; her six grandchildren John Carpenter, Patrick Carpenter, Brian Hammons, Krystal Holcomb, Malcolm McPherson and Lachlan McPherson; and her three great granddaughters Kristin Carpenter, Gwenyth Holcomb, and Izabell Holcomb.

Doris was a truly remarkable matriarch of her family.

A service will be held on February 13th at Oakmont Cemetery, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd. in Lafayette at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the San Francisco Asian Art Museum.
