Aleen Doris Myers (McCaghren)
Aleen was born November 22, 1923 in Houston, Texas to Henry LeRoy McCaghren and Eleanor Bryant Foulke. She lived for many years in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Vallejo, California, where she continued her schooling. She met Hugh-Gene Divine of Olympia, Washington while he was serving with the U.S. Navy; they were married on July 22, 1944.
While her husband was overseas, Aleen worked at Mare Island Ship Yard in Vallejo, as well as Long Beach Naval Shipyard. She was a welder on airplanes and Liberty ships. She and Hugh-Gene had three children together, Nadeen, Ronald, and James. They enjoyed roller skating, hunting, fishing and boating. After Hugh-Gene passed on June 22, 1984, she took up roller skating once again and skated until she was in her late 70s.
In 1993, she married Harold Eugene Myers. With her dear Harold by her side, she continued her love of fishing until his death on February 26, 2015. She moved to Washington in July of that year to be near her daughter, grandsons and great grandsons. She purchased a home near her daughter where she spent many hours puttering in her garden and her greenhouse.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jim, in 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Nadeen Wilson of Olympia, Washington; and her son, Ron of Concord, California. She is also survived by grandson, Greg Wilson, his wife Lisa, and great grandchildren, Joshua and Justin of Lacey, Washington; and grandson, Jeff Wilson, his wife Kelly, and great grandchildren, Aaron and Noah of Gladstone, Oregon.
